EU Ecolabel Products

The EU Ecolabel was created in 1992 to reduce the negative effects of consumption and production on the environment, health, the climate and natural resources. The EU Ecolabel can be awarded to a product that meets strict environmental, safety and quality requirements throughout its life cycle. The level of requirements has been deliberately set so high that only 10–20% of products within the product group can receive the EU Ecolabel. 

In addition to EU countries, the EU Ecolabel is used in Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is managed by Ympäristömerkintä Suomi Oy in Finland.
