Nattokinase NSK-SD is a potent and long-acting nattokinase enzyme that has generated great enthusiasm among those interested in cardiovascular health.

Nattokinase takes its name from the Japanese breakfast food natto made from fermented soya beans. Natto is thought to be part of the secret of Japanese longevity.

Nattokinase

The enzyme nattokinase is derived from fermented soybeans. The enzyme is isolated from a Japanese traditional food called natto. Natto is produced by fermenting cooked soybeans with the bacterium Bacillus subtilis natto. The beans are fermented for about 24 hours until they form a sticky, stretchy coating. The sticky mucilage is particularly rich in nattokinase. Nattokinase is the circulatory system's best friend and is particularly recommended for anyone over the age of 50.  


Nattokinase is a studied and safe enzyme


In Japan, about a billion kilos of natto are produced every year, and it is no wonder that it is so popular, as Japanese longevity is believed to be partly linked to the consumption of natto. Natto as a food naturally contains the enzyme nattokinase, but because its taste and smell are perhaps not the most appealing, it has been made into food supplements.


Natto as a food supplement


As a dietary supplement, natto has been around for decades around the world, but in Europe it was only in 2017 that the European Union gave it a novel food authorisation, making it a safe product. These safety studies used the Japanese enzyme NSK-SD. Chinese versions are also sold worldwide but it is the Japanese NSK-SD that has been tested and approved in different countries. Nattokinase has also been the subject of cell model studies, animal studies and human studies. Currently, there are a total of 62 studies, 20 of which are clinical trials in humans.


How does nattokinase NSK-SD work?


Nattokinase is a safe food-derived enzyme whose use is regulated by our smart body as needed. It is absorbed slowly and one dose a day is enough.

Dosage according to package instructions (1 capsule once a day with water). Please note that the recommended daily dose indicated must not be exceeded. Please also note that this product is not a substitute for a varied diet (remember to chew well and eat consciously) or other healthy lifestyle habits.
